Description of DutiesTeach 100-level World and / or American History courses.
Design and deliver curriculum.
Evaluate and report student progress, and maintain office hours.
Develop engaging teaching pedagogies that embody active learning principles.
Contribute to an enriching academic environment through teaching excellence; robust curriculum development and assessment; providing significant service to the department, division, and College.
Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional growth and productive scholarship.
Active participation in the College's student success and completion agenda.
Engage students in academic and professional opportunities through the curricular and extra-curricular activities.
Minimum QualificationsEducation:
Master's degree or higher in History from an accredited institution.
Experience:
Instructor positions are entry level.
Minimum qualifications include the College's requirement that experience for entry level positions not exceed 3 years of fulltime equivalent college teaching experience and/or 6 years of related work experience, as determined by the College.
Experience is determined after the award date of the relevant Master's degree.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to teach History offerings in the department.
Evidence of well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
Commitment to supporting an inclusive environment on campus.
Evidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs.
Evidence of understanding about and commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college.
Evidence of technical literacy and a demonstrated willingness to maintain skills as technology changes.
Willingness to work in collaboration with history department colleagues, and to teach classes in various modalities - face-to-face, via Zoom, or online via Canvas.
Preferred Qualifications & Special ConsiderationsDoctorate degree in History from an accredited institution desirable.
A concentration in World History.
Recent college teaching experience.
Demonstrated interest and experience in 100-level History courses, including general education courses.
Evidence of teaching as a prime career focus.
Knowledge of, or experience in, implementing a variety of teaching strategies.
Evidence of team-centered, participatory nature.
Evidence of engagement in a professional organization.
Knowledge of web-enhanced or online instruction.
Knowledge of Monmouth County and its communities.
(Faculty members teaching extra courses or working additional hours during the academic year and in the summer receive additional compensation.

This position may be staffed at the Assistant Professor Level.
This position is in-person at the main Lincroft Campus.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
